Volvo EX30's Impressive Pre-Sale Performance in Canada Reflects EV Market Growth
January 26 2024,
The launch of Volvo Car Canada's electric vehicle, the EX30, has led to a significant pre-sale achievement, with nearly 50% of its stock pre-sold since its introduction to the market on October 18. This strong demand is indicative of a broader shift towards electric vehicles, a trend supported by Volvo's October sales figures, where electric vehicles formed 20.8% of their total sales in Canada. This trend is in line with Volvo's strategy to transition to a fully electric vehicle lineup by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2040.
The EX30 has been designed with a focus on environmental sustainability. It features an interior that utilizes 30% recycled and renewable materials and an exterior that incorporates 25% recycled aluminum. Volvo Cars Canada’s Managing Director, Matt Girgis, emphasizes the EX30's alignment with the Canadian market's preferences for an eco-friendly, safe, and premium electric vehicle. Offered at a starting price of $53,700, the EX30 is available in a range of colors and interior styles.
The vehicle offers two electric propulsion options, including a powerful Twin Motor Performance model that delivers 422 horsepower and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The EX30 also boasts comprehensive safety features, such as the Blind Spot Information System and Driver Alert System, highlighting Volvo's commitment to vehicle safety.
Canadian customers can now customize their EX30 online, with deliveries expected to begin in Summer 2024. The model is also included in Volvo Car Canada’s 'One Price Promise', ensuring a transparent and simple buying experience. The EX30's strong pre-sale figures underscore its role in Volvo's electric vehicle lineup, combining environmental sustainability with advanced safety and performance.
